Busy toRegal Home Office Transformation
This home office was definitely on the right track: the desk positioned to face the window, bookshelves in place, and the central art piece were all promising elements. While thoughtful placement is important, it’s not the only factor that shapes a functional and inviting space. In this transformation, I’ll be tweaking the built-ins for a more cohesive, integrated look, replacing the desk with one that conceals cords and clutter, and refining the color palette to create a more calming atmosphere. While deep reds can be striking, in an office setting they can have an off-putting effect, making them harder to work with. The paint color sets the tone for the entire room, so it’s crucial to choose one that fosters productivity. Green, for example, promotes focus, growth, and mental clarity—plus, it complements red on the color wheel. This subtle nod to the previous maroon shade will honor the room’s original color while enhancing its new, more serene feel.
